In May 2011, Enfield Council selected Mulalley
and One Housing Group as their partners to undertake the
regeneration of the Ladderswood Estate.
Ladderswood – the new scheme
The new scheme is almost ready to put before
Enfield’s planning department.
We’ve had meetings with the Council,
Transport for London (TFL) and the Greater London Authority
(GLA), all of whom are broadly supportive and have made
recommendations that we’ve taken on board.
The scheme looks like this:
-
Social housing 147 properties
-
Shared ownership housing 59 properties
-
Privately owned housing 295 properties
-
501 properties in total
Of these, there are 420 apartments and 81
houses.
There are also:
-
Seven commercial units
-
An 80 bedroom hotel
-
A new community centre
A new ‘energy centre’ which will replace the
district heating system that is adjacent to Curtis House. This
will use the latest technology and serve the entire development,
providing both social and private properties with hot water for
heating and washing, and in addition generate some electricity
which will help keep bills down.
Subject to planning permission, we expect to
start building in the Spring of 2013 and have occupations by
Spring / Summer 2014.
